Knotty + Sketchy 4Eva //
We can finally wear layers! Yay!! The cool weather of course has me in a frenzy to update my wardrobe, but I’ve just got some ol’ Sketchy classics on here - trusty vintage Coach, my striped blazer and floral scarf. One new thing I’ve added to my wardrobe for fall though, is this supa-kewt necklace - ya’ll know I love me some turquoise/gold combos. I met the owner Nur-E Farhana recently, and we had the chance to talk about her recently launched company Knotty Gal, that’s part cool jewelry shop, part charitable endeavor (the best kind). Nur-E’s great-grandfather started the Bhandari Girl’s School in Bangladesh, the first all-girls school in the region (p. cool dude). After a visit to the school, Nur-E and her mother created Knotty Gal to help fund Bhandari, to build classrooms and provide educational materials for the roughly 1,000 girls that attend.
Obviously I love this idea - school is unfortunately a luxury for some, and the more we can do to give children a chance at a good education, the better. (#seriousketchy). The jewelz just also happen to be adorable - I like my new necklace, but I’ll also take this, this or these, please. Christmas is comin’ up, e-friends - be knotty and nice this year!
