Snow Much Fun
I took Anthony and Dustin up to my Vermont ski chalet this past weekend for a little break from our respective cities! The skiing was super duper due to some actual snow falling out of the sky at a fairly steady pace. I skiied, Anthony snowboarded, Dustin drank a few Bloody Marys with my dad, we hot-tubbed, played in the snow, over-ate, but still found the time to snap pictures of each other’s beautiful faces, of course. I’ve never actually worn this outfit aside from these photos, but I think something like this would be appropriate for work, or for a daytime jaunt, or a walk of shame. Whatever you feel! Do you, girlfriend! I would recommend a coat, however - I think the contents of my furse (see what I did there??) were warmer than I was during this shoot.

Snow Day
by Melanie Schnitzlein | @sketchyblonde | www.thatsketchyblonde.tumblr.com
It’s ski season! I wore this home from Vermont on Sunday after a nice ski day on Saturday. Never paired these jeans with this sweater before - it wasn’t something I’d put together right off the bat, but I saw them next to each other in my suitcase and decided to try it out. A five hour car ride with your friend is a great time to try out new outfits, because basically no one is seeing it, and it will be covered in trail mix in approximately 45 minutes anyway. My theory for why these two patterned items work together is that the colors in the jeans also appear in the sweater. Not too matchy-matchy, but this way it ends up looking purposeful, not weird. The obvious footwear choice is some rainbow vintage furry boots, because I can’t finish anything on a normal note.
Sweater - Mine is from Bloomingdales, but A or B from JCrew are preeetttyyy cute, too.
Jeans - The ones I have on are Madewell, but this Topshop pair are more winter-y, and I like the small-scale print on these!
Boots - I’m wearing a vintage Tecnica pair my mom gave me, so scour Ebay if you want the real deal. If you’re not into other people’s old shoes, something like a Minnetonka Mukluk will give you a similar look.
Coat - I like Soia and Kyo for down coats that are warm, but don’t make you look like a human pillow.
