Sunday, Fussy Sunday //
This is what you look like when you try and reinvent the wheel on a perfectly fine Sunday afternoon. I don’t want to wear a skinny belt on the weekend! I don’t want to tuck anything in! That’s for the Monday - Friday (ok, Thursday, really) livin’. I do like orange and green together, and it’s hard to go wrong with a denim jacket, so I guess it’s got that going for it (the outfit, is it a person now?), but typically I like to roll a little more low-key on the last day I have before I go back to (MTV’s) The Grind. Kinda wish I could just go back in time and work on MTV’s The Grind for realz. I think these sunglasses would help me fit in.

All blue errythang. Plus yellow stud earrings, some real grandma jewelry, and some wannabe grandma jewelry. I’m okay with both.

This was the day after my sister’s wedding. I did a lot of sitting, mainly because I was tired. I was ignorantly under the impression that weddings are “relaxing”, and I was going home for a “vacation” of some design - LOLOL. Heck no!! I tend to fall back on preppy classics when things get hectic, because they feel easy to wear. Bright wedges and stripes will dress you up in a family-friendly way, perfect for a brunch at 10am on a Sunday with lots of people you haven’t seen in a while. And by a while, I mean since last night, when you drank a bunch of gin and danced to Flagpole Sitta in front of them.

This outfit is showcasing the “three good colors in a get-up” thing I do. Like, pick three good colors, then have them all in your outfit. An extremely complicated concept that I understand if you aren’t able to grasp. Ok, here, I’ll explain it - there’s orange (purse), blue (necklace) and, ahh, magenta (dress). I really like colors.

This post is just like that Rihanna song. *Watches the video* Ok maybe it’s the exact opposite of that song. Nothin’ like a sleeved dress and some pointy toe heels to make you feel like a Stepford wife! You kids want some rhubarb pie? Stop trying to murder each other (practicing my parenting skills). This was a second option for my sister’s wedding. I like options when travelling, they come in handy if the weather is not cooperating, or if you’re just not “feelin’ it” (your first option that is). Any ding dong can wear a plain dress to a wedding, so why not cover your full body in a feather print to really shove it in all those guests’ stupid faces? I think that’s the point of the event.

I think I’ve gushed enough about this necklace, but seriously - it makes anything cool!
If you couldn’t already tell, I’m a firm believer that you can never have on too much turquoise. It becomes sort of a neutral - but then again, I was thinking the other day that it’s possible I think every color is a neutral………….disregard everything I’ve ever told you.
Wa-Wa-Wedding //
There are tons of married people in the world. Getting married is a fairly regular occurrence in the grand scheme of life, but I’m sort of new to the game of attending weddings - I think the last time I went to one, I was a flower girl. NOT THAT I’VE AGED A DAY OR ANYTHING! Getting dressed for a wedding can invoke panic and anxiety, a lot of second guessing, or the sense that you must “look perfect” (all those people!! all those appetizers!! What is the alcohol sitch?). So when it’s your sister tyin’ the knot, you want to look extra speshul. However, after several weeks of buying and returning potential dresses that never lived up to what I imagined they’d be, I said “Oh, what the heck”, and decided instead to put together one of my work tops, a spangly pencil skirt, and half of my personal jewelry collection. The shoes are new, though. At least buy yourself a fresh pair of kicks.
Coachella seems like it was fine but I’m p sure you can have just as much fun going to work in some ratty flats #wiwt

My boss described my outfit this day as “not matching but matching”. Thanks, boss lady, that’s pretty much what’s up!
I added a coral lip to sort of spring-ify this unintentionally fall-type color palette. Happy Thanksgiving, y’all! Also, I have really committed to these bangs. I am now 50% closer to having a bowl cut (yesss). Not sure what I’m going to do when it gets humid out.

It looks like fall in these pictures. I’m very sorry about that, I know you don’t want to think about fall. Regardless, it was cold, I was tired, and this is something I’ve worn before, an outfit repeat - I like the way the two patterns compliment each other. Pleats are not necessarily the most flattering look for my lower half, but hiking it up to my waist and belting it helps eliminate some of the weight a bunch of pleats can add. The red tights make me feel a little more spring-like (in comparison to standard black), but lezbehonest, how sick are you of tights? Tights can take a hike as far as I’m concerned. I would say that to their face though, so whatever.

I wore a lot of colors this day, plus competing black and white patterns. Does this overload of visual stimuli explain why I failed to bring a memory card for my camera that is capable of holding more than 5 photos at once? This was a very short shoot. I shall keep my post similarly abbreviated, assuming your attention span is as finely tuned as the part of my brain that remembers stuff.
